Summary
This project was designed as a "notes and pictures" catalogue database.
It offers a simple solution for digitizing and organizing archaeological records and observations as they emerge during excavation and further processing by specialists.
It allows these data to be made available on the web easily and cheaply. It also facilitates colloboration, further analysis and interpretation, and future institutional publication.
It has a limited scope by design and centers the needs of archaeological team members and specialists.
It can be easily adapted to fit a specific project's needs.
While it was never intended to be a "stable" web-publishing solution, it may serve as a pathway to one.
